A registered dietitian is available for nutrition counseling. They counsel all therapeutic diet modifications while specializing in certified diabetes education and weight management. Specialized Diets are Available for the Following:

  • Vitamin K Regulated Diet
  • Low Cholesterol Diet
  • Low Fat Diet
  • Hypoglycemia Diet
  • Pregnancy Diet
  • Gestational Diabetes Diet
  • Nutrition and Cancer
  • Nutrition and COPD
  • Weight Management
Talk to your doctor today about meeting with our Dietary Staff. The goals of the nutrition services department are to provide all customers with nutritionally adequate meals, prepared under high standards of quality and sanitation, served attractively at proper temperature, and at the correct time. Another goal is to provide nutrition evaluation, assessment and education for both inpatients and outpatients. All patients will receive nutritionally adequate meals as ordered by the physician or recommended by the dietitian. Certified Diabetes Education Diabetes education is provided to patients by a team of professionals. This team includes your physician, a registered nurse and dietitian. Education occurs in group sessions and individual consultations. A total of 10 hours of education and follow-up is contained in the program. Coverage for this service is provided by Medicare and some insurance plans. Please check with your insurance company to see if your plan covers Certified Diabetes Education. If not, patients will be responsible for the cost of the education.
