Our Purpose
To enhance your care at the hospital by adding a special
touch and any extra help we may provide. The Butler County Health Care
Center Volunteers were founded in January of 1992. After a survey was
completed, the volunteers were officially formed to provide service to
the hospital. Associate membership is available for those who do not have
time or cannot physically participate.
How You Can Help
The volunteer's mission is to assist the Butler County
Health Care Center in providing service to patients and making their stay
a comfortable one. There are many ways in which you can volunteer. The
important thing is to find something you like to do and let us know. We
will work with you to find something you feel comfortable doing. We want
to be sure that you enjoy your volunteering times with us! Last year,
our volunteers donated 3,120 hours of their time to the hospital.
A Variety of Services...
- Gift Shop - We would love to have you help us run the Volunteer Gift & Candy Shop!
- Baking - Special baking projects for fundraising events is one opportunity to volunteer.
- Crafts - These items have the power to make people smile! Items such as baby caps can be donated to the gift shop.
- Patient Services - To be of service to our patients and make their stay as positive as it can be is a noble mission. Visiting with patients is another way to volunteer. This may include activities like delivering mail, playing cards, reading, playing games, and staffing the refreshment cart.
- Handy Man Work - There may be opportunities to help around the facility.
- Holiday Decorating - To brighten the spirits of patients and staff during the holidays, we like to decorate just as you would at home. Help is always appreciated to put up or take down decorations.
- Clerical - Help our office staff with filing, sorting, telephone duties, etc. If you miss this type of work, come lend us a hand!
- Supplies - Hospital supplies need to be tagged with identification stickers for tracking purposes. This is a big help and not physically demanding.
- Sewing - You can volunteer from home by sewing or mending hospital items.
- Gardening - Yard work and tending to flowers and shrubs is another area that you may love to volunteer your talents. This spring we planted flowers and plants outside the hospital entrance!
- Special Events - Volunteers are often called upon to help out at our annual health fair, county fair display, and other hospital sponsored events and open houses.
