Butler County Health is seeking an Executive Director of the Butler County Health Foundation. The Foundation Director will manage the planning and development of the Butler County Health Foundation.  In this comprehensive role, the successful candidate will work to secure major philanthropic gifts, grants, and conduct fundraising events to support the foundation’s mission. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership, interpersonal, and communications skills that allows him/her the ability to exercise administrative and functional duties. Candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with an emphasis on business, marketing, communications or possess an equivalent combination of education and experience in a similar position. Experience in grant writing/procurement, philanthropy, public relations or business management preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following.  Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned by the CEO.

Understand and comply with the requirements of the Hospital’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, The Compliance Policy, all organization-wide policies for compliance and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.

Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Hospital policy and as requested by supervisor.

Consistently support the compliance Program through personal example; the provision of day-to-day instruction and correction to employees in regard to compliance-related issues; application of appropriate discipline as required for compliance violations; and ongoing monitoring of activities and work product in areas of responsibility with respect to compliance-related issues.

ESSENTIAL FUCTIONS

  1. Identify and cultivate major donor gifts, visiting with selected donors at their convenience to strengthen their relationship with the Foundation and Butler County Health presenting the various methods they can use to help.
  2. Researches and writes grant applications to support the Foundation and Butler County Health’s mission.
  3. Provides education to community groups, donor groups, and individuals about the need for contributions and the mechanisms available to facilitate giving.
  4. Administer an effective program of donor recognition, to include prompt, thank you letters for all gifts, personal thank you letters for all major gifts, regular publication of donor’s names and display plaques on a donor recognition wall.
  5. Establishes positive working relationships with key advisor to potential donors (attorneys, accountants, trust officers, bankers, financial planners, insurance agents, and funeral directors).
  6. Organize meetings for Board of Directors. Prepares documents and materials for distribution prior to the meeting, attends the meeting and records the minutes when the secretary is not available.  Report on progress of organizational objectives, financial status of the foundation, potential donor visits, and other issues of concern to the Board.
  7. Evaluates changing trends in philanthropy, tax and estate planning regulations to develop new programs responsive to the fund raising needs of the hospital.
  8. Manages Annual Giving Program including public activities/events, direct mail, business and industry solicitation.
  9. Implements a donor retention program to continue and increase consistent giving from persons, companies, and organizations supportive of the Foundation.
  10. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of the latest treads in field of expertise.
  11. Distribute funds as directed by the Foundation Board.
  12. Report the financial status of the Foundation to the Board.
  13. Work closely with the Foundation investment advisor to insure that investments are in accordance to the Foundation Investment Policy.

The Parkinson's Empowerment Group at Butler County Health targets so many aspects and symptoms of Parkinson’s. It improves a person’s posture, mobility, balance, and coordination, as well as cognition and ability to multi-task. I also like the flexibility of the program and being able to adjust exercises from each position to fit the need of each individual patient.

I feel having a 3D mammogram was a blessing for me since it detected my Stage 1 cancer.  The technicians were very helpful as they explained how the machine worked compared to the 2D method.  A big difference is that the 3D machines moves above your head from one size to another and gives a more complete image of the breast.  The testing time also seemed shorter than the standard mammogram.

I had a bunion on my foot and I wanted it removed,  but I really didn't want to travel too far to have the procedure done.  So when Butler County Health started providing Podiatry Services, I made an appointment right away.  Dr. Carlston is professional and personable.  He took the time to explain what happens during the procedure and afterwards.

Being able to have my blood drawn at Butler County Health saves me a weekly trip to Omaha.  It is simple to schedule an appointment that works with my schedule and the staff is quick and efficient at drawing my blood samples.
