Seeking Full-time Business Office Clerk to work days M-F with rotating Saturday hours.  The hours will be 7:00am - 3:30pm.   Computer and Office experience required.  Position Closing Date: 3/2/2020

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Understand and comply with the requirements of the Hospital’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, The Compliance Policy, all organization-wide policies for compliance and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.  Understand and comply with facility and department policies, procedures and standards.

Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Hospital policy and as requested by supervisor.

1. Preparing weekly accounts payable.

2. Admitting patients electronically and obtain required signatures.

3. Assisting patients with paperwork and providing necessary explanation of acknowledgements signed by the patient.

4. Process UB 04/1500 claim forms to be sent to insurance companies.

5. File claims electronically with insurance companies.

6. Keep current on insurance filing regulations and requirements.

7. Enter and submit other electronic data such as Medicare on-line.

8. Enter Patient charges electronically and verify the charges match documentation of care.

9. Call and follow-up on unpaid insurance claims.

10. Balancing accounts receivable daily.

11. Answer and transfer incoming phone calls.

12. Run the month/year end accounts receivable reports.

13. Collect and enter insurance and patient payments and allowances into computer.

14. Ensuring patient services have been pre-certified and re-certified with Insurance Carriers.

15. Pre-registering patients for various services as required.

16. Train other staff as needed.

17. Participate in QI studies as assigned.      

18. Attend seminars and workshops as directed.

19. Maintain patient confidentiality.
