COVID-19 Infection Control Precautions

BCHCC is taking precautionary action to protect our patients, members, and staff from Coronavirus (COVID-19). At the moment, there no known cases of COVID-19 in our area. However, because there is no vaccine or medical intervention for COVID-19, we want to keep the chance of infection to a minimum.  At this time, all entrances will be locked except for the Emergency Entrance, Wellness Center, and 10th Street Admissions entrance. In an effort to protect our patients No Visitors are allowed into the Hospital until further notice.

  •  Patients experiencing cold or flu symptoms including but not limited to fever, coughing and/or shortness of breath, are asked to reschedule their appointment to a later date when they are no longer exhibiting symptoms.  *If you are having difficulty breathing, present to the ER for further evaluation. Please call 402-367-1222 so we can be prepared for your arrival.

  • Patients showing symptoms as listed above will be asked to wear a protective face mask as a precaution and ensure the safety of our staff and fellow patients.

  • Please notify staff  if you or member of your family may have been exposed to someone with a confirmed case of COVID-19 or if you or someone you have been in contact with, has traveled internationally in the last 2-3 weeks or to the states of Washington, New York, California, Colorado or Florida or in Houston, Texas or Reno Nevada.

  • The CDC announced that there should be no gatherings of 10 or more people.   To protect the health of the community the Wellness Center and Downtown Fitness will be closed effective March 17, 2020 at 8 pm until further notice due to the potential onset of the coronavirus.  Please check the Butler County Health Care Center website page (, hospital facebook page and email for updates.  All memberships will be frozen effective March 17, 2020.  Membership will be unfrozen when the Wellness Center and Downtown Fitness re-opens.  Please note that the Butler County Health Care Center Therapy Department will remain open during regular business hours for patients with scheduled therapy appointments. 

  • New Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidance released March 16th recommends canceling or postponing events with 10 or more people to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in the United States.

  • People of all ages can be infected by the COVID-19.  Older people and people with pre-exisiting medical conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, heart disease) appear to be more vulnerable to becoming severely ill with the virus.  The World Health Organization advises people of all ages to take steps to protect themselves from the virus for example by following good hand hygiene and good respiratory hygiene.

  • On March 16, 2020 President Trump and the White House Coronavirus Task Force issued new guidelines to help protect our country during the Coronavirus pandemic titled “15 Days to Slow the Spread.  This  initiative is a nationwide effort to slow the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the impact of this disease on the United States through social distancing.
