This part-time and temporary position (average of 15/wk) includes assisting Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapists with day-to-day therapy clinical duties. Responsibilities assigned to this position may include, but are not limited to setting up for sessions, cleaning and organizing equipment, assisting therapists with treatments, and communicating with patients in a professional and friendly manner. The individual selected to fill this position will make patient satisfaction a priority by helping them feel valued, safe and comfortable during their visit. Qualified candidates will be interested in pursuing a career in the program of Speech Language Pathology, Occupational Therapy or Physical Therapy and have completed at least one semester of college. High-school diploma required. This position will run from mid-August through mid-January 2022 and will provide the candidate with valued experience in the field of rehabilitation in a rural health care setting . ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following.  Other duties may be assigned.

Understand and comply with the requirements of the Hospital’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, The Compliance Policy, all organization-wide policies for compliance and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.

Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Hospital policy and as requested by supervisor.

1. Assists Therapist with patient care as requested.

2. Assists with scheduling of patient for appointment in Cerner system.

3. Assists patients with safe mobility within the clinic.

4. Makes patient satisfaction a priority by helping patients feel valued and comfortable in the clinic.

5. Assists with cleaning duties in patient care areas and equipment promptly after each patient.

6. Records accurate records for scheduling and billing.

7. Records accurate cleaning logs for both required weekly and monthly tasks.

8. Records accurate temperature logs for hydrocullator and refrigeration appliances.

9. Prepares and take-down Game ready device daily.

10. Collects new referral information appropriately as outline on ‘Referral Intake Form’.

11. Assists with restocking of supplies.

12. Verifies the previous days billing.

13. Knows where supplies are stored and replaces them when used.

14. Maintains confidentiality and assists others to keep confidentiality.

15. Attends Therapy Department meetings as needed.

16. Follows up with patient’s regarding missed/canceled appointments.

17. Distributes patient satisfaction surveys to outpatients at discharge.

18. Assists in tracking number of missed, canceled and rescheduled visits.

19. Uses appropriate barrier protection when exposure to blood and/or body fluids is anticipated.

20. Implements safe work practices 100% of time to reduce the risk of occupational exposure during all procedures or tasks that involve contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
