Butler County Health is seeking a Ambulance Driver. This on-call position will play a key role in the safe transfer of our patients by ambulance while following traffic laws and navigating efficiently to the destination. The candidate will adhere to our patient and public safety standards and demonstrate an awareness of and respect for patient rights and maintain patient confidentiality. Weekends and holiday will also be required.
Emergency vehicle driving experience preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Understand and comply with the requirements of the Hospital’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, The Compliance Policy, HIPAA, all organization-wide policies for compliance and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.
Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Hospital policy and as requested by supervisor.
- Report incidents, unsafe conditions, or equipment malfunction to proper personnel
- Keep equipment clean, safe and in working order. This includes cleaning the windshield after every transfer.
- Take call as assigned and respond within 30 minutes. This includes weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
- Obtain/Maintain CPR certification and complete all continuing education deemed necessary by the Ambulance Coordinator.
- Communicate with medical staff, families, and supportive staff.
- Adhere to all hospital and department policies/procedures and standards
- Monitor fuel and refill as necessary and record according to policy for billing.
- Participate in yearly in person class for reviewing ambulance equipment and use.
- Maintain appropriate driving record according to facility policy and insurance guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality and assist others to keep confidentiality.
- Appropriate barrier protection will always be used when exposure to blood and/or body fluids is anticipated.
- Implementing safe work practices 100% of time to reduce the risk of occupational exposure during all procedures or tasks that involve contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
