Job Shadowing

Butler County Health Care Center provides the opportunity for student observation and job shadowing in order to create awareness and inspire careers in health care. High School students in the 11th and 12th grade or other individuals, sixteen (16) years of age or older, are invited to apply for job shadow experiences at Butler County Health Care Center. Student observation time may vary from one hour to four hours depending on several factors including but not limited to patient census, department workload. All requests will be subject to consideration of our patient’s needs and departmental workload.

Student observation and job shadow application process and requirements:

  • Contact Laura Daro at  402-367-1366 to request information on health care careers, departments available for job shadow experiences and other related information.
  • Complete and submit the job shadow application and agreements below two weeks prior to job shadow experience. Exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis. Parents or guardians of students under the age of 19 must also sign this application.
  • Students participating in job shadow experiences will be required to adhere to the Influenza Vaccination program or wear a mask when in contact with patients. Job shadow experiences may need to be rescheduled outside of major influenza outbreak periods (December 1- April 30).
