Family Medicine encompasses all ages, both males and females, each organ system and every disease entity. Family Medicine providers diagnose and treat illness, as well as deliver a range of acute, chronic and preventative health care services. It is a form of primary care where the family medicine physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner provides continuous, comprehensive health care for the entire family, creating a medical home for their patients.

“Family medicine has always been my focus in medicine. The wide variety of patients seen in family medicine, forces one to keep up with medical literature in all subject areas, rather than just one specific area. As I mature, my patient population matures. As a result, I treat more patients with chronic conditions versus obstetrics and pediatrics. The challenge of making a diagnosis of a complicated condition is still the most rewarding.”
