Job Shadowing
Butler County Health provides the opportunity for student job shadowing in order to create awareness and inspire careers in health care. High School students sixteen (16) years of age or older and college students are invited to apply for the job shadow experience at Butler County Health.
Students approved for this program are invited to Butler County Health in an observation role only. Students do not provide care to Butler County Health patients. The goals of the job shadow experience are to observe the daily routines of health care workers, begin to identify career interests in health care and gain awareness of the academic and service standards required in various health care professions.
Students must complete the Job Shadow Application, Job Shadow Agreement and Confidentiality Pledge (parent or guardian signature required for all applicants under 19 years of age) to be considered for the job shadow experience. Upon arrival, students will complete HIPAA training at Butler County Health. High School students may shadow a total of twelve hours at the hospital, with an eight hour maximum in any one department. College student shadowing does not have a set hour limit and is determined by student needs and availability. The best time to job shadow in most departments is in the morning. Please see the Careers in Healthcare Guide under the forms tab for more information about healthcare careers available.
