Butler County Health currently has an opening(s) for a Cook/Dietary Aide. This full- or part-time position (6am-2:30pm or 10:30am-7:00pm) with weekend and holiday shift differential. Responsible for preparing meals for patients, staff and meetings. Training will be provided, however previous food service experience is preferred. The ideal candidate will strive to make patient satisfaction a priority. High-school diploma or equivalent required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Understand and comply with the requirements of the Hospital’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, The Compliance Policy, all organization-wide policies for compliance and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.
Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Hospital policy and as requested by supervisor.
- Assist and/or set up patient trays.
- Prepare or assist preparation of food assigned.
- Understand and correctly prepare therapeutic diets.
- Responsible for checking trays before loading in tray cart.
- Deliver patient trays to nursing floor.
- Operate dishwasher.
- Is able to correctly operate and clean food service equipment.
- Participate in cleaning schedule of department as assigned.
- Inventory and ordering, assist as needed
- Maintain a high level of sanitation and safety while performing duties.
- Answer telephone and transfer messages as needed in the department.
- Use of various computer programs and cash register
- Attend in-services or meetings.
- Assist in data collection for QI activities.
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Available to work a variety of shifts during the week and weekends.
- Oversee the dietary department when dietary coordinator and Registered Dietitian are not available.
