Butler County Health currently has an opening for a Therapy Aide. This full- or part-time position (10-hour days, min of 30 hours/week) includes assisting Occupational, Speech and Physical Therapists with day-to-day therapy clinical duties. Responsibilities assigned to this position may include, but are not limited to setting up for sessions, cleaning and organizing equipment, assisting therapists with treatments, and communicating with patients in a professional and friendly manner. The individual selected to fill this position will make patient satisfaction a priority by helping them feel valued, safe and comfortable during their visit. High-school diploma or equivalent required.

- Assists Therapist with patient care as directed.
- Assists with scheduling of patient for appointment in Cerner system.
- Assists patients with safe mobility within hospital campus.
- Makes patient satisfaction a priority by helping patients feel valued and comfortable in the clinic.
- Assists with cleaning duties in patient care areas and equipment promptly after each patient.
- Records accurate records for scheduling and billing.
- Records accurate cleaning logs for both required weekly and monthly tasks.
- Records accurate temperature logs for hydrocullator and refrigeration appliances.
- Prepares and take-down Gameready device daily.
- Registers new patients into Cerner system.
- Collects new referral information appropriately as outline on ‘Referral Intake Form’.
- Assists with restocking of supplies.
- Verifies the previous days billing.
- Knows where supplies are stored and replaces them when used.
- Maintains confidentiality and assists others to keep confidentiality.
- Attends Therapy Department meetings as scheduled.
- Follows up with patient’s regarding missed/cancelled appointments.
- Distributes patient satisfaction surveys to outpatients at discharge.
- Assists in tracking number of missed, cancelled and rescheduled visits.
- Uses appropriate barrier protection when exposure to blood and/or body fluids is anticipated.
Implements safe work practices 100% of time to reduce the risk of occupational exposure during all procedures or tasks that involve contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
