Butler County Health is seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Supervisor to join our team. This full-time day position (40 hrs/wk) requires a motivated leader that will foster an environment of team work, pride, and customer service within the housekeeping department. The successful candidate will ensure that all areas of the hospital and its other facilities are kept clean and disinfected using the latest infection control guidelines. Previous Supervisor experience or formal management training/education preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Understand and comply with the requirements of the Hospital’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, The Compliance Policy, all organization-wide policies for compliance and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.
Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Hospital policy and as requested by supervisor.
Consistently support the compliance Program through personal example; the provision of day-to-day instruction and correction to employees in regard to compliance-related issues; application of appropriate discipline as required for compliance violations; and ongoing monitoring of activities and work product in areas of responsibility with respect to compliance-related issues.
- Design programs and strategies to meet goals and objectives of the Environmental Services Department and BCH.
- Provide input/assistance with hiring and termination of staff
- Ensure all new environmental services staff are provided with the necessary training to perform the necessary tasks for their position.
- Create an Environmental Services Technician Schedule that adequately staffs the hospital to meet its needs.
- Delegate responsibility to other environmental services staff members as appropriate.
- Operate department within regulatory standards, best practices, and prescribed budget.
- Work with other department supervisors to ensure that their departments are properly cleaned/sanitized on a schedule that works best for their department and the patients at BCH.
- Plan and document Quality Improvement for environmental services.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and standard work.
- Maintain job descriptions and evaluate environmental services staff annually.
- Ensure that all areas of the hospital are kept clean and disinfected using the latest infection control guidelines.
- Work with the Materials Management Manager to ensure the department has the supplies they need.
- Foster an environment of team work, pride, customer service, and confidentiality within the department.
- Appropriate barrier protection will always be used when exposure to blood and/or body fluids is anticipated.
- Implementing safe work practices 100% of time to reduce the risk of occupation exposure during all procedures or tasks that involve contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
- Attend workshops both in and out of town.
