Butler County Health has an opening for a Registered Nurse. This Full-time Night position (36 hrs/wk) includes providing direct patient care including ER and OB with on-site training. Demonstrate an awareness of and respect for patient rights and maintains patient confidentiality and completes other duties as assigned. This position will be required to work every third weekend as well as a holiday rotation. Potential for supervisor responsibilities including charge nurse. Closing Date: 10/07/2024

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES including the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Understand and comply with the requirements of the Hospital’s Compliance Program, including, but not limited to the Code of Conduct, The Compliance Policy, all organization-wide policies for compliance and compliance plans affecting specific duties and responsibilities.
Participate in all education and training programs regarding compliance as required by Hospital policy and as requested by supervisor.
Consistently support the compliance Program through personal example; the provision of day-to-day instruction and correction to employees in regard to compliance-related issues; application of appropriate discipline as required for compliance violations; and ongoing monitoring of activities and work product in areas of responsibility with respect to compliance-related issues.
- Direct patient care (including ER and OB).
- Assist physician with rounds and procedures.
- Perform concise charting of patient medications, treatments, procedures, activities and patient teaching.
- Ability to administer medications and treatments competently.
- Contribute to nursing care plan and daily worksheets.
- Initiate and follow through on patient teaching with documentation of teaching checked on flow sheet and teaching sheets where applicable.
- Communicate with charge nurse on patient and family needs.
- Communicate with physician and staff to ensure consistent quality patient care.
- Seek out help when needed and communicate patient needs to other team members.
- Perform direct patient care when riding on patient transfers with our ambulance transport service.
- Pursue continuing education as appropriate.
- Stay current with new techniques.
- Ability to work in specialized areas and/or obtain required continuing education in these areas.
- Maintain current licensure and BLS certification.
- Maintain confidentiality and assist other to keep confidentiality.
- Maintains safe environment.
- Appropriate barrier protection will always be used when exposure to blood and/or body fluids is anticipated.
- Implementing safe work practices 100% of time to reduce the risk of occupational exposure during all procedures or tasks that involve contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials.
